Gathered the necessary items for Kindergarden registration. Good thing mom had me call. Where we are moving to is doing registration this week. While we don't have a place there yet, they still wanted to get her registered. So - before leaving for warmer climes tomorrow - I am taking the biscut in for her last shots. It seems like I already got them - but maybe not. I checked back through my blog and didn't see anything about it - so we'll get them tomorrow morning. Grandma Sue gets to take her in to register on Thursday. What fun! It took me awhile to find the immunization records - eventually I remembered I put them in the ICE folder - In Case of Emergency. Of course, that was after searching the shed and garage :(

I'm better now :) So glad too! What an experience. So much to tell....not about being sick - but about our perfect Saturday!

It started with sleeping in - I wasn't sure how I would be feeling....DJ worked on the Camry (1987 - cost $400 - and has run well even though we've been fixing/upgrading things). I got up, had breakfast, got dressed. Since we had recieved our much anticipated tax refund, we paid off our credit card. I felt good enough to go to the temple with DJ and Kimball. We met up with Eliza and Bill, Lydia and Isaac, and did baptisms for the dead. So nice! Afterward we went to a Salvadoran restaurant and had our favorite pupusas!
Really a great day!

So this sickness has been working its way through the family. Kimball and DJ had it yesterday. Taylor and Amanda and I have already had it. Chuck and Sue had mild cases. We'll see where we go from here :)

Well, it's time for me to make lunch. Hope your week is wonderful! I'll be posting from the road toward the end of the week!

So glad that everyone got the Valentines! Kimball did the art work for us and I just scanned, resized and printed out. I think Hinckley has the lowercase y down now ;)

The sorting of pictures is going well. I'm not sure I understand all the terms they are using - highlights folders, etc. I'm tagging things which is enough. Having way too much fun with family history at the moment - so my time is divided. I've been telling myself that when I get all the pictures tagged, I can do a separate catalog with the scrapbook kits, elements etc in it - sorted according to type and color. I started this a bit in the other program, but never really finished. Looking forward to seeing what I have again :)

So many ideas of pages to do....I should start making a list!

Anyway, if I'm ever going to get through these I have to get going. Short blogs for a while :)

Took some time today to change the look of the blog. Love the quote - got it from House of 3 I think....It so fits the VT message this month :) And is reminding me that the tax refund needs to pay off the credit card. :)

It's been a year. One year ago today, DJ and I decided to take our lives a different direction. We decided to accept a job offer in Eastern Idaho and move our family across the state - away from the only home three of them had ever known. It was a leap of faith. It was difficult. A year has gone by and it's still walking by faith a bit. So much has happened in that year and I've been asking so many questions that I'll never be able to answer (what if we had decided to stick it out, would Kimball be less moody living where we used to live, etc.). Monday is the 15th anniversary of our first date. It's a big weekend for us. DJ and I are cooking Chinese food tonight - partly to celebrate all these anniversaries, and partly for Chinese new year tomorrow.

I so agree that I need to do something to enjoy the pictures other than on the computer - I'm thinking digital photo frames with the keys Stacy talked about, Becky. In addition to my own pictures, I have copies of my MIL's pictures, and pictures from my great-grandmother. So I know what you mean by overwhelming. I guess I'm doing it a little backwards - I'm categorizing all the pictures and thinning things a lot - I haven't begun the star process. It's easier for me to see what pictures aren't tagged at all and work on that group. I have about 6,000 some tagged and about 9,000 some to go. Roughly. I have no idea how many I've thinned - Maybe about 4,000? I still have a copy of all those pics on my external drive - so they are not gone forever (yet). So many duplicates!

Kimball wants to get a digital camera - so I'm off to the store to see options with her. Should be fun! I hope you all have a great day!

I've been hanging out on the Germany/France border - near Alsace. Geneology wise that is ;) That's where that name came from. I thought it might be a gypsish name - and was visiting with another at the FH library - she suggested the t might be silent (and then I remembered the France part of the equation). Update for Eliza: I have names and next weekend anytime will work :) Looking forward to it (Temple!).

I need to update my goodreads again. Been reading a lot....

I think I have DJ sold on the new PSE :) I watched a tutorial in my LOM class and it told me some really neat things: You can add locations to your pictures (place them on a map) - or if you have GPS in your camera - it will upload that information automatically when you add your pictures. Very neat! I am thoroughly enjoying the class - although I'm not sold on printing pictures just to have pictures. I'm getting enough inspiration from the sorting alone!

Well, I need to check on something for DJ. More tomorrow!~

Had a great day at the Family History Library. Can't pull myself away from searching for ancestors :) Somehow I'll manage....

The latest update on the saga of selling our house - the water heater has gone out. So we'll be paying to replace that. I think that's the only appliance that we didn't replace before :) The fun just keeps coming!

So looking forward to tomorrow and another week of my LOM class :) More then.....

Thanks everyone for the comments! I sorted some pics yesterday - and will probably do more later today. Some memories I wasn't ready to deal with yet....

Just getting ready for a Costco run.....Did some family history this morning. The coolest name I found was Sekunda Dubinat. Female ;) Just when I think I've hit the end of the line - it just keeps on going! I was hanging out in the 1600-1750's. Crazy how far back some lines go. So looking forward to learning more about researching!

We had a nice Sunday. I'm feeling pretty worn out - so I guess I'll have to take it easy for a couple of days ;) I know many of you wondered about the square dancing.....and I wondered too! Turns out you'll have a hard time finding a more friendly bunch of people! DJ and I both learned some basic steps and had a great time! It's really quite the sub-culture! They should make a documentary about it! From what I've heard there are square dance clubs all over the world - and they are all in English (the calling of directions). If you want to step out of your comfort zone - you might want to inquire around your area. Definately worth trying once!

Great way to get the heart rate up a bit! They even had breaks between the songs for treats and drinks. :) The gal in the front dancing with the guy in the blue shirt is my friend, Linda :)

I posted a layout to my LOM class and wanted to put it on here to share with you too. The first thing we were asked to do in the class is evaluate what we were scrapbooking already. I found that I'm missing the people and why parts. So this is a beginning layout for that area.

No names - to protect the innocent ;) So, if I send you an email asking for a picture - you'll know that you're going in my book! These pics are from facebook. Love that!

Had a wonderful day yesterday - and a pretty good one so far today! :) Here's a pic of the birthday girl, herself! She had just blown out her candles. That baked alaska was delicious!

Kimball designed our Valentines Card for this year. I got them printed out today - hopefully I'll be able to get them all in the mail soon :) She really did a great job!

DJ and I are going square dancing tonight. I figure it's worth a try....plus a gal I visit teach is a regular :) Should be interesting. At any rate - I'm getting out of the house with DJ!

It's been a great day already! Our birthday girl left with such a big smile on her face! It's also picture day - so lots of fun! I'm heading to her class in a bit to take a birthday treat - Fruit Roll ups as she requested :)

I've already been into the LOM class for today. Looks like lots of fun. I'm not going to worry about the pictures and albums I have in storage - I'm not going to dig for them to complete the first assignment. :) Just working with what I have out already. :) It's enough.

Typing up some things for McKay's class. Hoping to be done before I go in today so I can get them back to her teacher. I really hope I can find a thumb drive :0

We survived Hinks visit to the dentist. Poor girl! She's all smiles this morning, though :) It was a rough night for me - hopefully tonight will be better. We're off to the FHC this morning for our shift. Kimball gets to go to the eye doctor so she can get some contact lenses! Should be a good day.

Wanted to put a pic on today - this was a bit ago - but the girls had a great time on the fitness trail. At one point, they were holding hands and running together. :)

So today, I have two parent teacher conferences and one Hinckley filling. She has no idea what is in store for her.....and I'm not telling her! We're getting excited for her birthday. Recieved the card from Grandma Jo & Grandpa Gene yesterday. We're making her wait to open it :) I'm making her a Strawberry Baked Alaska for her cake :) So tasty!

Yesterday while out birthday shopping, I found a swivel bar stool at a second-hand store for $15.00 - so now we have a hair station :) I did three girls hair this morning and they had such big smiles! Maybe a new trend for me? We'll see! Anyone have any good suggestions on websites to teach me some new tricks - beyond the basic curl and ponytail? Thanks in advance...

After a long sick weekend, DJ is finally on the mend. He took today off to rest a bit - but will finally be returning to work tomorrow. Having him around throws my schedule off a bit - so I hope it gets back to normal soon. More tomorrow!
