28 Aug 2009

So glad that the packages are arriving and everyone is enjoying them. I've heard from several of you :) I have to report that I got my last "roll" of film developed at Wal-mart this past week. The courteous helper suggested I get an index print and a CD. Such a good idea - I really had no clue what was on the film. Baby Taylor pics :) Made me smile....and made me realize how long that roll has been sitting around. Our store is remodeling and won't be developing film anymore after the end of the month. So....if you have a mystery roll sitting around too - get it done before it can't be done!

It's been a good day here. Taking it easy. Sorted through my file box - and probably threw away 20 lbs worth of paper. So lucky that my mom burns the garbage - I don't even have to shred it first!

Hope all is well with you - DJ and Kimball just left to go hike Mt. Borah tomorrow. Crazy fun. There's a group of guys (plus Kimball) who are going. Too bad you don't live closer, Traci! They are going to be so tired tomorrow ; )

Take it easy!

OK - in case I haven't mentioned before - www.findagrave.com
I am working with this website (as a volunteer) to add cemetery entries. I am doing a cemetery on the local Indian Reservation. So...it's not an Osborn that you know. If you are interested in helping the effort - you can also register on the above web site - enter your zip code and you will get photo requests from time to time in your email :) Depending on how many other people near you are volunteers (and how many people request) - you can also help the work. It's actually pretty fun - and your kids can help (practice reading?!?)

Sarah - so glad that the kids are enjoying the games. I thought you might have some so I figured that you could pass some on. Glad that's going to work for you :)

Well - catching up on my mending. Better get it done! Loves!

25 Aug 2009

I've been busy - and continue to be busy - entering in the names and pictures from the cemetery. Here's a picture....
If you look closely - you can see my reflection in the headstone ;) I had to take another picture so my reflection didn't show.....Gives you an idea anyway....I have 699 files left to go (pictures to be entered....) So it's going to take awhile....I am pacing myself. Just an hour today.

Hope you're all getting your packages! Thinking of you!

Congratulations!

I'm just off to the post office with some packets! Congratulations to you all! I decided to go ahead and send stuff to all interested parties. I am sending Becky the file folder book - because it will take some work to translate it into actual file folders :) What a nice Grandma! Tina is getting some activities specifically geared for little ones. Sarah is getting some games for older ones. Cory is getting a little bit of everything as is Aaron. I gave him the benefit of the doubt on entering. :) I'm also including a little note with further links to other fun if you find these to be something you would like more of. :) If you just want to see the links on here and didn't enter - make a comment and I'll post the links too.

DJ should be home later today! YEAH! We're taking it easy :) Have a great day all!

Loves!

10 Aut 2009

Anyone catch that? It's the 10th of Aut. August in a rut. Just feeling blah....oh well! I'll be better soon enough. Got everything we need moved in - and enjoying it! Some compromise on everyone's part as DJ & I now occupy the family room. I really will get a video on here...soon. Just not now. I'm doing dinner tonight. It's all good because I have a plan in mind - soup and salad. Plus we have a loaf of Mom's homemade bread :) Already I'm feeling better just very tired :) Hopefully it will be a happy tired tonight.

So many things to appreciate. Got me thinking - as I read Becky's blog. There are many things I appreciate that I didn't properly appreciate before (or even think about). Locks on doors. DOORS! New sheets (when you can't find the old ones), Having enough (and still amazingly having so much still packed!), seasonings, a real bathroom. Showers every night if I want (have to clean the tub before I get adventurous enough to bathe. My own bed - that we bought ourselves and has only belonged to us. That's about all my mind can bring up right now. Much more I know....

Hope all are well. We don't get the best phone reception in the basement - but the home number does work, and we can get messages (sometimes takes time). Thinking of you all!

7 Aug 2009

Got up and went to the temple with Amanda this morning. So nice! Got some cards printed off - templewise that is - and one in the mail to Grandma Jo! Found some great preschool ideas in this month's creating keepsake magazine. Unfortunately, you can't see these ideas on the internet :( - so I'm going to tell you about them. I know I'm not the only mom looking for projects to do with preschoolers. The heading is Turn scrapbooking supplies into teaching tools. Four ideas: Memory matching game (think pics plus die cuts), Handwriting Practice Book - print out tracing pages from internet and put into a scrapbook (with the page protectors as a dry erase surface, Photo and name recognition book and letter tracing cards (took montessori idea of letter manipulatives and made letter cards on a ring). My description does not do them justice! I happen to have some supplies that I wasn't sure what to do with - and now I have some great ideas. I'm so a digital scrapper but can't resist the cardstock paper packs at JoAnns!

What else? Still working toward moving into the house....soon I hope! It was really cold this morning (46) and I know it's still August and going to get a lot colder :) There's time I remind myself.

Well, I'm sure I have more to say - just can't think of it now. Have a great day!

5 Aug 2009

It's been a good day! Hope all is good with you :) Becky: I got info today that indicates the new family search program is available to you - and you need to go on and claim your legacy information (what you submitted to Ancestral file). It's not a big deal and doesn't take long. It will just allow you to edit information and people can contact you. It's a good thing, really. Call me if you like and I'll walk through it with you :) Our home number (old) still works as it's an internet phone now. Hope that makes sense. I'll check the family site to make sure it's listed on there.

Anyway - the big news here is that Mimi is going to be sealed to Morris! Very exciting stuff!

Also - wanted to add this link. I'll put it on the family site as well: http://www.dailydoselearning.com/

It's for Mara ;)

Have a great day all!

At the end of a long day. Began it early - getting into the habit of getting up for school ;) So glad it's time to go to bed. We did peas today - lots and lots of peas. Shelling only. Mom took care of the rest. Hope things are going well for you! More when I'm not so tired!

Reviews

So - I'm full of opinions today. We enjoyed Night at the Museum 2 - didn't like the little bit they threw in at the end of the little cowboy getting to second base. Really unnecessary! Other than that (and that went right over the girls heads) the girls loved it! Taylor was on my lap and having a great time!

As far as Coraline goes - SKIP IT! The book was one thing - and I didn't want to see the movie following the reading of the book. The movie was even beyond that. The G** word several times, and a yucky feeling left at the end. But that is not all - no, that is not all! If you want to see a cartoon woman with a big chest (exaggerated) with pasties and a bikini bottom on....by all means watch this movie. If you don't know what pasties are - you don't want to know. Don't ask. From now on I will have to preview even the PG movies before my kids see them.

On a brighter note - church was nice. Fast Sunday and I fasted! So enjoyed bearing my testimony. Got to help Amanda teach primary. Such a fun class!

I was going to put a picture of DJ blowing grass off a tombstone (part of our date on Saturday). I uploaded some pictures today - onto findagrave.com We like to find interesting things like that....Anyway - we added some individuals to the State Hospital South Cemetery. We are heading to a cemetery on the reservation this next week. Should be fun!

Have a great Sunday all!

1 Aug 2009

Had a nice slow morning this morning. Enjoying the day. We're going to a movie later....Night at the Museum 2....the girls really liked the first one so I'm betting they'll like the second as well. I gave in to them and reserved Coraline....found it at the redbox after all! So - we'll have some reviews later. Hope everything is well with you!

Later!
